1. About this policy
Bedstone Technology Pty Ltd handles personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains what we collect, why, how we keep it safe, and how you can access or correct it.
2. What we collect
When you fill out the contact form, we collect the information you give us: name, work email, company, website (optional), and a description of the problem you'd like us to look at. None of these fields are required beyond what's marked on the form.
When you visit the site, our hosting and analytics tooling may record standard technical information like your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and pages viewed. This is used to understand how the site performs and to detect abuse.
3. How we use it
We use the information you provide to respond to your enquiry, prepare a proposal if relevant, and communicate with you about an engagement. We do not sell your data and we do not share it with anyone outside our team unless a service provider needs it to deliver something on our behalf, or unless we're required to by law.
4. Cookies and email tracking
We use a small number of cookies and local storage to remember your theme preference and to record that you've seen the cookie notice. We may use privacy-respecting analytics that drop a non-identifying cookie to count visits.
You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time. If you do, parts of the site may not behave as expected.
If you submit a brief through the contact form, the confirmation email we send you contains a 1×1 pixel that records when the email is opened. We use this only to know whether our reply has been received and read, not to identify you beyond what you've already told us.
5. Where your data is stored
We use cloud infrastructure to host the site and store enquiries. Some of these services are operated by overseas providers, which means your information may be transferred to and held outside Australia. We choose providers that meet recognised security standards.
6. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat the information you send us as confidential and limit access to people who need it.
7. Your rights
You can ask us at any time what personal information we hold about you, request that we correct it, or request that we delete it. Send us an email and we'll handle it promptly.
8. Complaints
If you think we've mishandled your information, please email us first so we can make it right. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
9. Changes
We may update this policy as our practices evolve. The current version will always be available at this URL with the effective date at the top.
